Tilt-head mixers
Tilt-head mixers have a head that tilts back so you can easily attach the bowl to the base and swap out accessories as needed. Then, tilt it forward again and lock it into place ready to use. When it’s time to add ingredients, simply release the head with a lever and tilt it back again for clear access to the bowl. KitchenAid tilt-head stand mixer bowl capacities range from 4.3L to 4.8L, allowing you to make up to 108 cookies in one batch, or a recipe for a whole family.
Bowl-lift mixers
Bowl-lift mixers have a broader bases and the head doesn't move. The bowl attaches to two arms that are raised and lowered with a lever. Accessories can be switched or ingredients added while the bowl is lowered. The powerful motor and sturdy design provides the stability needed to help you create recipes from heavier mixtures. KitchenAid bowl-lift stand mixers come with 5.6L to 6.9L bowls, which are perfect for mixing up to 168 cookies or multiple batches of recipes at once.

All the accessories you'll need
It's exciting to take your new stand mixer home. In the box, you'll find included accessories with your stand mixer, to help with all sorts of tasks.
You'll be tooled up with the included mixing bowl, wire whisk, dough hook and beater (the paddle attachment). Some models also come with our flex edge beater which reduces the need to scrape the bowl. Or the pastry beater, which takes the hassle out of perfectly flaky pastry. These can all easily be changed with a simple twist-lock motion and allow you to do everything from batter to meringue.
