Ingredients

cinnamon sticks

1 tsp whole black peppercorns

5 whole cloves

3 green cardamom pods

3 cm fresh ginger

1/2 l water

1,5 tsp loose-leaf black tea

50 g light brown sugar

300 ml frothed milk

Step by step

  1. Crush the cinnamon sticks in the mortar and pestle. Add the peppercorns, cloves and cardamom pods and crush until the spices are broken into pieces.

  2. Transfer the spices into a small saucepan and roast for 3-4 minutes over medium heat until fragrant.

  3. Slice ginger and add it to the ginger. Toast for another minute.

  4. Boil the water in the KitchenAid Kettle to 100°C. Pour the water into the pan. Let sit for 5 minutes.

  5. Add loose-leaf black tea and let it steep for 10 minutes.

  6. Add brown sugar and stir until combined.

  7. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer into a teapot.

  8. Pour the warm tea into each mug.

  9. Add frothed milk and stir to combine.
