The on/off switch at the side will soon become part of your morning routine. Get up, switch on.

Just twist and lift to remove the hopper to empty, refill or switch beans. The Auto Purge function cleans out grounds when you change beans.

Fancy something different that's already ground? Or maybe decaf? Just skip what's in the grinder with this handy chute.

Fill to make up to 20 espresso shots*. Or make taller drinks without having to keep refilling. The filter helps stop limescale buildup.

Say goodbye to spills – the tray is big enough to catch them all so your coffee corner stays spotless. It even has an 'empty me' reminder.

Adjust the height up to 5.4" (13.7cm) to fit anything from a cute espresso cup to a tall glass. Then watch that deliciousness pour in.

The tube goes in any milk carton or container you like so the machine can incorporate milk for you. (milk container not included in this model).

Use this to test for the hardness of the water, which can affect the taste of the coffee. This is then programmed into the machine (see below).

Once you're switched on, follow the prompts on the display. You select your language and whether you want to install the water filter now.

Install the filter into the tank using the mounting aid. Test the hardness of your water with the testing strips, then enter that level into your machine.

Next, fill up the water tank with fresh water from the tap, slot it into place and close the lid.

Put your favourite beans in the bean hopper, locking it into place. We then recommend practising a few times before making your first real drink.

Make sure to place it directly under the nozzles on the drip tray. Tip: you can pre-heat your cup on the cup warmer space at the top.

Take your chosen milk container or carton and pop in the hose that's linked to the dispenser.

Use the display to scroll to your dream drink. Then push the tick to validate.

Personalise by temperature, strength and more, pressing validate each time. If you liked the settings you chose, you can save them to your profile.

If you're done, go back to the main setting screen with the back button. Once the 'play' button is lit, press it and enjoy your coffee.

Auto brew unit rinsing' warms the machine on start-up and quickly rinses residue. After use, the machine prompts you to do 'easy milk rinsing' to avoid any milk buildup.

Wash the drip tray when it gets full, empty used coffee from the puck container and give the machine a wipe. If you make milky drinks, wash out the milk container and frother.

It's best to change the water filter every 2 months. You'll see prompts to run 'brew unit clean' and 'descale' to remove residue. 'Milk system cleaning' gives the milk system a deep clean.

If you're putting in new beans, Auto Purge makes sure the taste isn't compromised by any grounds left behind. Remember that you can adjust the grind size to optimise flavour!

When you first use the machine, make several test drinks to run the system through.

Fresh coffee is still bursting with flavour and it's best for the hopper too.

The machine has an integrated grinder and the grind size affects the taste. Choose finer for light roasts and coarser for darker.
