1.7 L carafe

The generously-sized glass carafe has markings for up to 12 cups. The pour spout helps prevent drips for hassle-free pouring into cups of any size.

Water tank with dosage chart

Clear and easy to fill, the removable water tank has a large opening to minimise spills. Only fill it with the amount of water needed to brew.

Gold tone permanent filter

There's no guesswork on quantities thanks to dosage ladder. This gold filter replaces a cone paper coffee filter (standard #4 size paper filters can still be used, but don't use both at the same time).

Unique 29-hole showerhead

The special showerhead has a spiral of holes to evenly saturate the coffee grounds. This means you get optimal extraction and taste.

What are all the buttons on the control panel?

Whether you have the latest machine or the classic version, find out what the buttons mean.

Brew/cancel

Press any power button on the side or front of the machine to start brewing. The machine will beep 3 times when brewing is complete.

Auto

You can save a timing program (Auto Set) to make coffee at a certain time.

Hour

Press the hour button to set the hour on an auto program.

Minute

Press the minute button to set the minutes on an auto program.

Bold

Like a robust taste? Press bold to switch between regular or bold brew strengths. Regular is the default.

Clean

The cleaning icon will flash to remind you to descale with the cleaning cycle.

Plate temperature

Choose between a low or high temperature for the warming plate (not on the classic model).

Keep-warm timer

Press to set the length of time to 'keep warm' the coffee (not on the classic model which has a standard 40-minute keep-warm time).

Can't wait for your coffee? The 'pause and pour' feature allows you to pick up the carafe and pour a drink while the machine is still brewing. Just be sure to replace the carafe back on the plate within 25 seconds to avoid any overflow.

Program your machine to be ready when you wake up

Your coffee maker has 24/7 programming so you can 'Auto Set' it to make coffee whenever you like. Here's how to make it part of your routine...

Step 1. Press Auto

Press Auto Set 1 or Auto Set 2 (1 program available on the classic model). The indicator light will flash and the time display will change to 12:00 as default.

Step 2. Set the hour

Press the hour button to set the hour. The hour digits will change on each press, or press and hold to scroll rapidly.

Step 3. Set the minutes

Then, press the minute button to set the minutes. The hour setting will stay solid and the minute setting will begin to blink.

Step 4. Save! All done

To save your timing, just press any other button or do not press any button for 10 seconds. The Auto Set indicator will remain lit and the time will return to the current time.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to set the clock when you first use the machine — and before using the Auto Set feature.

How to clean and descale your coffee machine

Keep your machine in great condition by washing the parts. At any time, the carafe and water tank can be handwashed in warm, soapy water. The brew basket and gold-tone filter are safe to go in the dishwasher-safe, while the showerhead is wiped clean with a damp cloth.

To keep the coffee machine free of mineral deposits, you'll be prompted by the 'clean light' to descale every now and again. Here's how descaling works:

First, lift the brew basket lid and empty the brew basket.

Fill with a vinegar mix

Fill up the water tank with 1.4 L vinegar and 1.4 L cool water.

Press the clean button

Push the 'clean' button with a drip icon. Then, press any of the buttons to start the clean cycle. When it ends (about 30 minutes), 3 beeps will sound.

Run fresh water through

You'll want to run 2 or 3 water-only clean cycles after descaling to flush the system before brewing your next cup.
