Ingredients

200 g mushrooms

2 garlic cloves

salt and pepper

1 tsp + extra to garnish fresh thyme

2 slices sourdough bread

3 tbsp butter

Step by step

  1. Slice the mushrooms. Chop the garlic cloves finely.

  2. In a heavy skillet, melt butter over moderate heat. Add garlic and cook it for 30 seconds.

  3. Add the mushrooms and allow the mushrooms to brown. Flip them and let them brown on the second side.

  4. Season with salt and pepper. Add fresh thyme. Cook for another minute.

  5. Place slices of sourdough bread in a KitchenAid toaster. Toast bread to your desired shade.

  6. Top the toast with the mushrooms and garnish with fresh thyme.
