almond milk, coconut water or water

kale leaves, ribs removed, chopped

1

frozen banana, chopped

2 tbsp

unsweetened almond butter

1/4

pitted medjool date, roughly chopped (optional)

Step by step

  1. In order, combine almond milk, kale, banana, almond butter, date (if desired) and ice in blender jar of the KitchenAid ARTISAN Power Plus Blender. Secure lid and set blender to Smoothie setting. Blend until machine turns itself off.

  2. Alternatively,combine ingredients in blender as directed, secure lid and turn dial to Speed 1. Slowly increase speed to high (Speed 10 or 11). Blend until completely smooth for about 1 minute. If necessary, scrape down sides of jar with the Flex Edge tamper.

  3. Smoothie is best if served right away.

  4. The riper the banana before you freeze it, the sweeter the result. Be sure to peel bananas before freezing. Omit the date for a less sweet drink.
