Ingredients

2 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp shoaxing wine or dry sherry

1 tbsp cornflour

225 g sirloin steak, cut into thin strips

1 green pepper, core removed, cut into squares

4 tbsp water

2 tsp ground black pepper

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

1 garlic cloves, finely chopped

2 spring onions, finely sliced

pinch of salt

Step by step

  1. In a small bowl mix together the soy sauce, shoaxing wine and cornflour and add the steak, mixing to coat and set aside for 30 minutes to marinade.

  2. Add the beef mixture and peppers to the cook processor, fitted with the StirAssist and select FRY P2, pressing play to start the programme. Whilst cooking mix together the remaining ingredients.

  3. After STEP 1 add the remaining ingredients and press play to continue cooking.

  4. This dish is best served with noodles or rice.

  5. You can add basically what ever vegetables you like to this dish, including carrots or broccoli, simply cut to a similar size to the peppers so they cook at the same time.

  6. If you can get hold of them you can also use ground szechuan peppers, which will give the dish a wonderful numbing quality.
