Ingredients

2 apples

150 g ginger root

6 tbsp marigold petals

6 tbsp loose rooibos tea

6 cinnamon sticks

Step by step

  1. Start by washing the apples thoroughly to remove any dirt or residue. Using a sharp knife, slice the apples into thin, uniform slices. Use a vegetable peeler or a spoon to peel the skin off the ginger root. With a sharp knife, thinly slice the peeled ginger.

  2. Place the apple slices and ginger evenly on the drying rack. Dehydrate for 1.5 hour, remove the ginger and continue to dehydrated apples for 2.5 more hours. You can also use store-bought dehydrated ginger pieces and apples.

  3. Cut dehydrated apples into small pieces but leave 6 slicers aside. Mix the apple pieces, marigold petals, rooibos tea, dehydrated ginger root together.

  4. Add 1.5L water to your KitchenAid kettle and set the temperature to 100°C. Place the tea mix into a tea eggs or infusers and place in the glasses. Once the water reaches the desired temperature, pour it into a glass. Place a cinnamon stick into the tea for added flavor. Steep for 5 minutes. Finish off with a slice of dehydrated apple.
