  • 720 mlfiltered water
  • 140 mlraw unsalted cashews
  • 24 graw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 55 gfirmly packed chopped pitted dates (5 to 6 dates) or 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup, plus more to taste
  • 1teaspoon natural vanilla extract
  • Pinch ofsea salt
  • ½teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more to taste (optional)
  • teaspoon red pepper flakes or pinch of cayenne peppe (optional)

  • Step 1

    Place all of the ingredients (including any optional boosters) into the blender jar of the KitchenAid® Power Plus® Blender.

  • Step 2

    Secure the lid and set the blender to the Adapti-Blend™ Soup program. Blend until the machine turns itself off.

  • Step 3

    Alternatively, blend for about 5 minutes, starting on speed 1 and gradually increasing to speed 10 until hot.

  • Prep Notes

    If throwing whole pitted dates in to show the power of the machine the amount will vary depending on the variety and size. Please instruct people to place the cacao powder in with the water and cover with the cashews so that the powder doesn’t fly up into the lid on ignition.
