green tea bag

180 ml

boiling water

240 g

peeled and segmented ruby red grapefruit

1

green apple, cored and quartered

40 g

fresh baby spinach

1/2

medium avocado pitted and peeled

320 g

frozen pineapple

pinch

red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper, plus more to taste

1 tbsp

flax oil (optional)

1 tbsp

chia seeds (optional)

1 tsp

matcha powder (optional)

Step by step

  1. To brew the green tea, steep the tea bag in the boiling water for 30 seconds, no longer or the tea will develop bitterness.

  2. Transfer to a sealed jar in the fridge to chill.

  3. Pour the chilled tea and all of the other ingredients (including any boosters) into the blender jar of the KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender.

  4. Secure the lid and set the Blender to the Adapti-Blend™ Smoothie program. Blend until machine turns itself off. Alternatively, blend for 40-60 seconds, starting on speed 1 and gradually increasing to speed 10 or 11, until smooth.

  5. Serve immediately.
